  • Entry Information: Write your name and age on your artwork.

  • Submission Deadline: Bring your masterpiece to the Educational Tent by 10am on Sunday, 12th July.

  • Showground Entry: You need a ticket to enter the showground. Buy in advance for a discounted price! (Under 10's are free but still require a ticket)

  • Class 1 - Design a New Farm Animal

    Description:
    Children invent their own farm animal and present it either as a drawing, painting, or 3D model.

    Rules:

    1. The animal must be original and created by the child.

    2. Entries may be flat artwork (A4 size) or 3D models made from any craft materials.

    3. Each entry must include:

      • A name for the animal

      • A short description (max 50 words) of its characteristics, habitat, or special traits.

    4. The child must complete the work at home.

    5. Maximum size for 3D models: 30 cm x 30 cm x 30 cm.

    6. Judging criteria: creativity, originality, presentation, and effort.

  • Class 2 Create a Bug or Insect Model

    Description:
    Children make a model of a bug or insect using recycled materials, natural objects, or craft supplies.

    Examples: Ladybird, Honey bee, Butterfly.

    Rules:

    1. The insect must be recognisable as a real or imaginative species.

    2. Use recycled or natural materials wherever possible (e.g., cardboard, bottle caps, leaves, pinecones).

    3. Maximum size: 25 cm x 25 cm x 25 cm.

    4. The child must construct the insect themselves (with minimal adult help).

    5. Judging criteria: creativity, use of materials, and overall presentation.

  • Class 3 - The Funniest Potato

    Description:
    Using a potato, children create a funny character or face using craft materials, paint, or natural items.

    Rules:

    1. The entry must be based on a real potato (any variety).

    2. Children may use safe craft materials such as:

      • Paint or markers

      • Felt, fabric, or paper

      • Small craft items (buttons, pipe cleaners, googly eyes)

    3. The potato may be glued, painted, or dressed to create the character.

    4. Each entry must be the child’s own work.

    5. Judging criteria: humour, creativity, and originality

  • Class 4 - Recyclable Planter

    Description:
    Children create a planter using recycled or reused materials and plant something in it. This encourages creativity, recycling, and gardening skills.

    Rules:

    1. The planter must be made mainly from recycled or reused materials (e.g., tins, bottles, boxes, old toys, welly boots, teapots).

    2. The planter must contain a real plant or seeds. Examples include:

      • Sunflower

      • Basil

      • Strawberry

      • Marigold

    3. Maximum size: 30 cm width/height to ensure display space.

    4. The child must complete most of the work themselves, with minimal adult assistance.

    5. Judging criteria: creativity, originality, use of recycled materials, health of the plant, and overall presentation

  • Class 5 - Four Themed Cupcakes

    Description:
    Children decorate four cupcakes on a theme of their choice. This allows creativity and imagination, and encourages children to experiment with colours, designs, and decorations. Themes could include:

    • Farm animals (e.g., Sheep, Cow)

    • Bugs and insects (e.g., Ladybird, Honey bee)

    • Garden flowers (e.g., Sunflower, Daisy)

    • Magical creatures or fantasy designs

    • Fun and unusual ideas like emoji cupcakes, rainbow patterns, or funny faces

    Rules:

    1. Each entry must consist of four decorated cupcakes presented on a paper plate.

    2. The cupcakes can be either home-baked or shop brought. 

    3. Decorations can include icing, fondant, edible decorations, or other safe materials.

    4. The theme should be clear and consistent across all four cupcakes.

    5. Maximum overall size for display: 40 cm x 40 cm.

    6. Judging criteria: creativity, consistency, presentation, and overall appeal.
